We are Eric and Miriam Swaghoven, owners of this very dear place on the Maas. Valuas is a real family business. For more than twenty years, I, Eric, together with my brother Marcel, have given substance to what our parents took over in 1980 and raised with great passion. In 2017 I continued as a patron-cuisinier on my own and since then I have been running the business together with my wife and the regular Valuas team.

Our cuisine is very distinctive and can be classified as classic French, enriched with global influences. We honor craftsmanship, embrace modern techniques and proudly bring forgotten traditions back to the table.
Our changing à la carte and surprise menus include both classics and contemporary dishes. Take the Venlose fries-egg with truffle sauce and the famous asparagus dish with dry aged loin and béarnaise sauce. Our culinary offering is very broad and offers a suitable experience for every taste preference. From our own pastry shop, coquetry to casual lunch in our brasserie and fine dining at top gastronomic level.
Whatever the culinary need, the guest is guaranteed to be served only fresh ingredients of the best quality, often from our region or straight from our garden. And the nice thing is, all our catering elements flow into each other, everything is relaxed and homely.
In addition to quality, sustainability also plays an important role. We work according to the zero-waste principle where possible, we look closely at the actions of producers and we contribute to a better world in our own way, simply by making the right choices.
As a chef-patron, I consider myself fortunate that I can continue my parents' legacy with a contemporary vision, in which we strive for the highest possible guest experience. This recently earned our boutique hotel 5-star recognition. A coronation of our passion.
